Millennium Library

The Millennium Library in Downtown Winnipeg, in my opinion, is a building that is severely under appreciated in this city. Far too many in this city are even aware of existence, let alone the fact that it is really a striking building. The interior terraced reading area (pictured right) is really a great space. It reminds me somewhat of Alexandria Egypt’s new library (left and bottom). Although not quite as distinguishable as the library in Alexandria, with its location along the coast, slanting glass roof, impressive collection, and the historic library of the ancient Alexandria, Winnipeg’s main library is an impressive space. Now if only the outdoor courtyard were to be fixed and become more useable.
